The 2021 Robert Mundell Prize for the best article written by a young author(s) in the Canadian Journal of Economics was awarded to Maren Froemel and Charles Gottlieb for their paper “The Earned Income Tax Credit: Targeting the Poor But Crowding Out Wealth” published in February 2021 (Volume 54, Issue 1). May 2022 Prof. Dr. Silvana Tenreyro, Professor of Monetary Policy and International Economics at the London School of Economics and Political Science and an external member of the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee, was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Economic Sciences by the School of Economics and Political Science (SEPS-HSG). Silvana Tenreyro is a leading academic in macroeconomic disciplines and a role model for the fact that top-level academic performance can be reconciled with an active involvement in economic policy bodies. She participated virtually in the award ceremony. January - March 2022 Prof. James Davis appears on national and international media programmes providing his expertise on the Russian-Ukrainian War. They were honored for their work on the subject of school integration of pupils with special educational needs. December 2021 Prof. Martin Kolmar publishes new book "Border crossings: On meaning, the successful life and our dealings with nature" October 2021 HSG takes the number 8 spot in the Handelsblatt VWL Ranking after coming in at 10 in 2019, 9 in 2017 and 11 in 2015.
